The Glass Dress Keeps Growing

Back in 2018, I built a glass mosaic corset in a sprint — working until the drop deadline of the plane leaving — for Laura Donefer’s Glass Fashion Show at the Glass Art Society conference in Murano. This year, the show came to Corning, NY, and it gave me something I didn’t have the first time around: more time.

So I went back to Aceso.

I sculpted flowing ribbons covered in mirror so they catch the light land cast sparkles. I added flowery glass-shard anklets to dress up my footwear, and built out a headpiece using flowers I made on the torch — shaped with a flower press I picked up on that same trip to Murano, paired with pressed and shaped leaves. Then I made a necklace: freeze cast borosilicate flowers, each one tipped in gold and strung together bead by bead.

What started as a corset made in a rush has become a full look — and it’s still growing.
